LEGO Star Wars III The Clone Wars Announced Today

We should have seen this coming with the second installment of Indiana Jones, LEGO Star Wars is getting its next chapter centered around the Clone Wars. The press release from today claims it will have brand new gameplay and it will be the most action-packed LEGO game to date. Now I’m not one to complain, but I do believe I have played a large portion of these games and they are all basically the same thing with different skins, but I’m always up for trying new things, so hopefully this won’t disappoint.

Mass Effect 2 Review

Elcor Diplomat: “Amazed response, Bioware.  Mass Effect 2 exceeds all expectations.”  Sadly, there isn’t much dialogue from my favorite alien race, the Elcor.  Other than that, Bioware’s sci-fi sequel succeeds resoundingly at creating the same “black, white, or in between” choices that matter, and simultaneously reflect real-life problem solving processes.  The most annoying part of Mass Effect 2, as a reviewer, is this: how do you review a game by running through it as quickly as possible and exploring everything, with the game all the while telling you to slow down and enjoy the rich environments Bioware has created?  What a paradox.  But without further ado, hit the jump for the most anticipated review of 2010 (thus far).

The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom Preview

“It’s not over ’til you’ve gobbled each and every cobbler” states the subtitle under the header screenshot.  Little is known about this upcoming XBLA title, published by 2K Play and developed by indie studio, The Odd Gentlemen, other than the point is to find and consume pie.  Yes, the most versatile baked good is the focal point of this puzzle/platformer.

ModNation Racers Coming to PSP

Sony showed ModNation Racers off last year at E3 and it was very well accepted. It was basically marketed as Little Big Planet the Cart Racer. Giving players the ability to create and share their own custom tracks over PSN. Now a PSP version will be hitting the shelves side by side with its big brother. Both games will also share content across the PSN. Meaning if you create a track on your PSP, you and your friends will be able to race and play that same level on your PS3. This sounds like a great idea and I might actually pick this up. I am in dire need of a reason to pick up my PSP again.

Update: Check out trailer below!

Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode 1???

So yeah, another Sonic game has been announced. Only this time THEY PROMISE it will be more like the old school Sonic that we all grew up with. In the trailer above it does look better and is in 2D. The confusing thing is they also announced that Sonic 4 will be episodic and the first episode will be releasing in the summer. This game is also said to be a direct sequel so Sonic and Knuckles for the Genesis. I am not really sure I want another Sonic even if it is more old school. There are so many more better platformers out there right now that have moved the genre ahead. If your not interested you still need to hit play on the trailer so you can hear the “Sega” intro…you can’t turn that down!

Fallout New Vegas Gets Teaser and Fall 2010 Release Window

Bethesda has finally released a little info on Fallout New Vegas in the form of a teaser trailer and a 2010 release window. With Obsidian getting to develop this time around it should make for an interesting comparison to Fallout 3. It does look as though the game is really going to embrace that old school vegas vibe with everything from the music to the look of the new logo. I am sure we will start hearing much more around E3 time and most likely see some gameplay!

Splinter Cell Conviction Release Date Set In Stone!

Ubisoft has delayed Conviction so many times that its hard to tell if/when the game will EVER release. According to IGN, Ubisoft has finally committed to April 13th and set that date in stone. They literally sent the IGN office a stone with the date etched in one side. It’s nice to see a developer poke some fun at itself but what are they going to send when it/if it gets pushed back again?

Bioshock 2 Preview

Well, as most of us in the gaming universe know, 2K Marin’s highly anticipated (that may be an understatement) sequel to the dystopian shooter Bioshock is scheduled for full-platform release on February 9, 2010.  Throughout the past few months, little details of the game’s story have been leaked, to the point where we pretty much know who we’re playing as and who our likely antagonist is.  Set 10 years after the events of the first game, Bioshock 2 promises a new world of challenges set in the constantly de-evolving underwater city of Rapture.  With Andrew Ryan long gone, Sofia Lamb has taken the helm of Rapture, and her ideas directly oppose the “individuality” of Ryan’s philosophy.

XBLA: Behemoth’s BattleBlock Theater

Castle Crasher developer Behemoth has been teasing their “game 3″ project for quite some time. Numerous game outlets got a sneak preview of the game last year at PAX and still don’t really know what the game is all about. We can pretty much guarantee that its going to have a lot of humor and be a fun multiplayer experience. Once more media is available we’ll make sure to get it up!

Not much going on this week in the land of video games. While there aren’t many games releasing there are still a few of them that are worth checking out. Star Trek Online, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. , and White Knight Chronicles are all fairly big releases and all have the potential to be great games. Although, it might be best to save your money for next week considering that Bioshock 2 and Dante’s Inferno are both releasing!

Here are the games for this week!

World’s Worst Game Ideas

Games all have their strong and weak points. They rely on many factors, but most importantly is the basis of all these: the idea. The idea behind a game is simple, to the point, sets up the everything that is encompassed. I, on my own time, have created a short list of Horrible game ideas that would make even more horrible games. Why, you might ask? I say: Why not?

God of War III hitting US shelves March 16th!

March 16th. Thats the day Sony fans have been waiting for ever since Uncharted 2 was released. Finally they get to resume the role of Kratos and just bash some skulls in. Also released was the final box art, along with a new trailer will be hitting February 11th. Now would be a great time to go hit up the God of War Collection on blu-ray and start bashing the rust of your skills. This year should be very interesting with huge blockbusters like God of War and Mass Effect hitting early. Will they be forgotten by December when Game of The Year votes start coming around…?
