Mini WoW
Yesterday, I was sitting around trying to find something to occupy my time besides BlazBlue, my current true love. I hopped onto PlayStation Network to see if any new demo’s were out, and happened upon a game I have come to affectionately call Mini WoW, Fat Princess.
The premise is simple. Battle with up to 31 other players in team based, tactical, and frantic action. You bob around as your little animated character and slash, heal, build, harvest, incinerate, drain, and of course shoot your way to victory.
The game consists of 4 different game types, Team Deathmatch, Snatch ‘n Grab, Rescue the Princess and
Invasion. Team Deathmatch being what you’ve come to expect, two teams going head to head, kill for kill and Invasion is very much you standard territory war mode. Where things get interesting is when you get into the Princess modes, being Rescue the Princess and Snatch ‘n Grab. In these modes, you and your fellow teammates will try to capture each other’s princess’s while fattening them up to make them heavier.
Of course, the holy grail of Fat Princess is its game play. Consisting of multiple class’s, you have something for everything. The game, to me, feels like playing a simplified version of WoW PvP. You got your Mages on AoE and slowing people, Warriors tanking with a Priest not to far behind keeping him afloat. Meanwhile Rangers are raining in bullets and arrows from behind, and Shadow Priests drain health. An amongst all
this, Workers are running around, grabbing resources to upgrade there classes, build shortcuts, or fix your doors.
These aspects bring a strong sense of the same sort of feel DotA gives off, without going to in depth, keeping this simply and action packed.
The small wars you will come across will make you smile, even after you’ve fallen. Blood litters the battlefield along with limbs, and class hats. Class hats being the way to change class, at the beginning, and on the fly. You can be a Worker, and a Warrior rushes you while your collecting materials, Rangers not far behind. You could then kill the Warrior, grab his hat, and then use the Warriors ability to block arrows with his shield to defeat the Rangers.

Instances like this make the game. As you play along you’ll gain rank, which gives you titles, and also unlock new choices in the character creation screen, which is a fun way
to make things fresh. I myself donned a nice long bush of hair, bangs almost to my eyes, and a beard that would make anyone whimper at the sight of it. He is The Wildman, and hes crazy.
Mild connection and technical issue’s bog down the experience a little, along with some repetitive music, all able to be patched of course. But overall, this is a solid peace of simple, and fun gaming. Mini WoW is for me, so to speak.
So come on, challenge The Wildman, and pick up Fat Princess for a measly $15, on demand.
