New DSi: COMING SOON!

dsill_comparison2

The DSi hasn’t been out for long and now we’re already looking at another version of it.  The US version has been out since earlier this year, same for Europe; so really this doesn’t seem like a short time frame for Japan where it has been out since early November of 2008.  Nothing bad about that though, who couldn’t use a brand spanking new DS?  Hit the jump for the specs on the bigger sibling to the DSi.

So as you could tell from the picture up top (credit going to Nintendo Japan for that one), the DSi LL is quite a bit larger.  The LL (XL in Europe) sports 4.25 inch screens instead of the 3.25 inch screens on the regular model.  It also measures to be about 161mm x 91.4mm x 21.2mm, and weighing in at roughly 310 grams, which is somewhere around 100 more than the original.

DSi LL will be coming with a new stylus that looks more like a full sized pen.  However it seems there isn’t a spot to place your new found pen, so I hope that the LL still includes a slot for a small one.  What’s one of the first things on everyone’s minds?  What colors does it come in!  It seems the first set will include white, a dark brown, and a wine red color (in the picture up top).

The LL/XL will also have a bit longer battery life, ranging somewhere around 14-17 hours compared to the 9-14 of the regular ol’ DSi.  Now for some awesome; it’ll also include three Wii-Ware titles already loaded on the machine.  While nothing seems to have been said about what they, I’m sure it’ll pop up soon.

Price tag time!  Right now it is list at 20,000 yen…which equals out to about $220 for the American gamer.  Not that much higher compared to 18,900 yen (roughly $207), but still a noticeable increase.  The DSi LL is expected to hit Japanese shelves on Noverbem 21st.  While not something to make your head spin, the DSi LL is still a noticeable piece of information to be aware of.  For now, keep gaming on your regular DSi!
