Where are they now? – Mallow & Geno

GetAttachment.aspx

Hello everyone, and welcome to a new weekly addition to the Resume Play repertoire. Does anyone know what night club Billy and Jimmy from Double Dragon are bouncing for? What about the post office management position the original Paperboy has acquired? Is Chef Peter Pepper ever going to make enough burgers before being foiled by the triad of terror known as Mr. Hot Dog, Mr. Pickle, and Mr. Egg? These are questions that the public must know, and they are the questions that I have set out to find, and post my discoveries each week for you all to see. Click the link below to dive into the first edition of Resume Play’s “Where are they now?”

As one of the top ten role-playing games on lists across the world, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars has some of the most unforgettable scenes, game-play, and characters ever brought to the SNES. Of course throughout the game you are re-united with well-known Nintendo trademark characters such as Mario, Peach, and Bowser…however, there are two characters that join your quest for the seven stars…and haven’t been heard from since.

mallowMallow – Joining Mario early in his quest, Mallow was a cry-baby wannabe frog only interested in catching the thief that stole his wallet.  After a shocking (and obvious) chat revealing he is indeed not a frog with his froggy grandfather, Mallow joins Mario on his quest, only to discover later that he is the son of a king and queen ruling a kingdom of cloud people…making him the prince of course. While using canes to cymbals, Mallow became an awesome character and has not since been used by Squaresoft in another game. What a shame, right?

Where is he now? - fluffy_cloudsProbably in the sky over Norway, being somewhere in-between cumulus and cumulonimbus. Staying fluffy and moist for the most part, occasionally raining (when sad, of course!), and giving us a nice over-shadow from that sun. Staying at about 20,000 feet, he is probably made up mostly of ice crystals, but still bends in shape and size to form those ever-so-cute puppies and baby horses we stare at while on picnics with our significant others.

genoGeno – Geno started out as being a really bad ass elf-doll that could shoot is hand off like some kind of sweet rocket. Then he was wished to life, and joins your team in the name of Star Road to find the seven stars. If you thought the rocket punch was cool, just imagine how happy I was when I equipped him to shoot bullets from his fingers. Oh yes, Geno is that bad ass. However…he apparently wasn’t bad ass enough for Squaresoft to ever use in another game again. Ever. Being a disappointment to his rival Square characters, Geno disappeared and hasn’t been seen since…or has he?

Where is he now?santa-elf-1Twenty bucks says he’s changed his blue and gold get-up to a cherry red and green. Once finding a job in the video game world became futile, Geno sniffed out the jolly man in red. Knowing Santa couldn’t refuse him a job, being all nurturing and such, Geno probably packed on about forty pounds and became Santa’s head elf, making sure all the remote controlled cars were put in the bottom right hand side of Santa’s bag. After his recommendation for rocket-punching all the naughty children fell through, he was demoted to stable elf, cleaning up all of Rudolph’s big, shiny, red surprises.

That’s all for now on “Where are they now?” But check us out next week for the low down on some game characters that couldn’t quite cut it in the new-age of gaming!

Geno… As far as i know, it was bound to appear in Super smash bros Brawl but for some reason, he didn't make it.

The version i've heard: Square denied licensing to Nintendo.
Other posible reason: Release date didn't allowed Nintendo to include this character (Since square-Nintendo relationship seems to be healed nowadays) / Geno wasn't one of the most wanted characters in Brawl (Like sonic the hedgehog)

Evidence: “Geno's forest” theme found in the SSBB soundtrack

    Wouldn't it be cool?
