Metal Gear Solid: Philanthropy Review

Before I begin I suppose I should own up. This isn’t the ACTUAL movie that Sony is trying to push. No, this is a non-profit fan made movie made with no capital or resources. The makers are Hive Division, a semi-professional production studio, who really really deserve a goddamn medal. The final product is astounding, the look, feel & sound of a Metal Gear product is all there. Despite the lack of a true blockbuster feel, you know the kind that costs around $40,000,00, Metal Gear Solid: Philanthropy is the greatest fan made movie I have ever seen. I strongly urge you to watch this, and then get over to the comment section and tell them what a great job they did. It has taken years, literally, but they kept at it and now it’s done.
The movie is based around the actions of the anti-nuclear weapons cell Philanthropy, which features lightly in the beginning of MGS2, so from this we’re able to tell it’s time space is before or after the Tanker level in Metal Gear Solid 2. Snake is working with Philanthropy to hunt down nuclear warheads around the world, when it becomes apparent that Armstech is operating a Metal Gear production facility in the country of Daskashan, Snake is sent in to bring them down.
Once on the ground he is joined by Ex-Legionaire Pierre LeClerc & disgraced soldier Corporal Elizabeth Laeken. Although skeptical at first, Snake eventually comes to terms with his new team and sets out to capture Armstech big shot Abraham Bishop. However, it soon becomes apparent that the mission isn’t going to as easy as thought…
Despite having no budget aside what they had in their own pockets, trust me when I say that Hive Division have created a movie that will probably give whatever Sony can cook up a run for it’s money. Makes you wonder if maybe fans should be trusted with game movies…except Uwe Boll of course…I wouldn’t trust that man with my spare change let alone Metal Gear.
It’s a fantastic example of pure desire & hard work can achieve, of course the acting & dialogue may not be brilliant but it for such a low budget Hive Division has created a truly amazing movie.

Agreed.
This movie is amazing. Better than a lot of 'high budget' movies these days.
I can't wait for the next two parts.
If you liked the movie then please go post on the website in the comments section. These guys really deserve it and it will maybe help persuade them to make the remaining parts. (They're undecided to it at this point).
