Modern Warfare 2 at £55 in the UK is a Myth

Infinity Ward and Activision have had a lot of bad press lately because of the decision to sell Modern Warfare 2 in the UK for £55. After walking around two busy cities today I thought I would try to find a retailer selling it for that price.

Here’s my findings:

Sainsburys – £26.99

Morrisons – £29.99

Game – £44.99

Gamestation – £44.99

HMV – £43.99

Tesco – £39.99

PC World – £44.99

Currys – £44.99

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that not one place is selling it for the ‘outrageous’ price of £55. I’m not one to back up Activision or say that they’re not one for cashing in (just look at the 5 Guitar Hero games they’ve released this year). However, the argument not to buy Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in the UK because of the price is no longer a valid one.

Unless you’re a PC gamer and love dedicated servers, in that case you’re still screwed.

Littlewoods are selling it at £55. I'm suprised its not higher since all their prices are ripoffs.
