DLC: New and Semi-Old To Watch Out For
Maybe it’s just me, but I love DLC for games. The idea of extra content for my favorite games, new stuff to play, is always good for me. Though DLC can be a bit of a controversial topic in the gaming community, let’s just focus on the good aspects of here. Hopefully, you’ll find this list handy to keep track of upcoming DLC for your consoles.
Dragon Age Origins—
We’ve already covered this here on ResumePlay, but it’s on the list for fulfillment. If you like Dragon Age, I highly suggest you watch out for the Return to Ostagar and expansion coming soon. Also, if you haven’t yet, play the Stone Prisoner and the Warden’s Keep, you won’t regret them. Shale is a great character to add to your party and the Keep gives you some storage and extra merchants.
Borderlands—
I’m sure everyone has already taken a romp through the hellish Borderlands, but some may not have gone for the DLC. The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned is a very tongue in cheek area with plenty of references to other pop culture “horror” movies, shows, etc. While not giving you anything extra like storage, it’s well worth the in game rewards of playing through. This one is already out for all three platforms.
Mad Moxxi’s Underdome is a homage to the Mad Max series. This gives you another and lengthier arena to fight in, along with storage for all your weapons. Moxxi’s has been out for 360 for a bit now, and just hit PS3 at the time of the writing. It seems it may have also hit PC and Steam for download, but you’ll have to check for it yourself.
Forza 3—
Well race fans, while it’s already been out for a month, Forza 3 has some new cars that you can take onto the track. Hitting during the holiday seasons, the aptly named “Hot Holidays” gives players a 2010 Ferrari 358 Italia and a 2010 Nissan GTR SpecV to burn up the tracks with. I’m not particularly a racing game fan, but new cars is always a good thing.
Along with these sets of DLC, here are some others you may want to watch out for:
Rock Band track pack including—
Paul McCartney: Band on the Run, Jet, and Sing the Changes.
Blink-182: Adam’s Song, First Date, and I Miss You
The Psychedelic Furs: Love My Way and Sister Europe
The Ramones: Rock ‘n’ Roll High School
Modern Warfare 2—
Not much here I can say because I don’t have much info. However, two map packs will be hitting in Spring. Keep watching out for more info.
Assassin’s Creed 2—
While these sets of DLC were initially planned for the full game, they had to be cut for time constraints. The first one is titled The Battle for Forli. This will continue the story of Caterina Sforza, and is due out by the end of January 2010 (or this year). The other is entitled Bonfire of the Vanities and is due out at the end of February. Keep a watch out for both.
Left 4 Dead 2—
The Passing will be coming out in estimated Early Spring. The new cast of survivors will be meeting up with the old cast in the first occurrence of meeting uninfected humans, at least when they’re not behind a door or intercom. While it sucks that you won’t be able to play as Francis, Zoe, Bill, or Louis, you will at least be teaming up with them to kick some zombie ass.
That’s all for now fans. Keep a watch out for this upcoming DLC and keep up with the news of others. Keep on gaming!

Weak blog is weak.
Personally i'm not a fan of DLC (Unless it's free.). We have to pay £40 for a game on launch day, then the devs charge us extra money for content that, in some cases (Assassin's Creed 2.), SHOULD have been in the full game. Whenever i hear that a game is going to have DLC expansion packs, i don't buy it but instead wait a year for the GOTY edition to come out. If you have the patience….it's the equivalent of getting the DLC for free, which at least balances things out a bit.
