No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle

Travis Touchdown returns this week in the sequel title Desperate Struggle from Grasshopper Manufacture.  As I watched footage of the game it seemed relatively close the the gameplay and combat in the first No More Heroes.  Although the Combat in the first NMH was fun it did get a bit repetitive after a while having to fight many of the same enemies over and over but maybe Desperate Struggle will change that formula. Suda51 has confirmed in previous interviews:  “Expect some really cool new wrestling moves,” and there will no be more Beam Katanas to choose from including the new Giant Beam Katana.  Contrary to Suda 51 previous comments on Wii MotionPlus — there is no usage of the peripheral in the game.

Series protagonist: Travis Touchdown

Apparently Touchdown has lost ranking with the UAA and the Pizza Butt corp has renovated Santa Destroy.  After Travis killed Skelter Helter he is convinced by an agent by the name of Sylvia Christel to try to get his rankings back from UAA.  Travis agrees but he’s also fighting to avenge the death of his close friend Bishop.  Some of the bosses were revealed in previous trailers including: Kimmy a teenage girl and fan of Travis — who became an assassin just to gain the assignment of killing him so she can finally meet him, and Charlie MacDonald a football player with the ability to turn into a giant mecha.  The game still seems to hold it’s frantic style and personality that you would expect after playing the first No More Heroes.    With its satire on video games from the names and attacks to the setting itself it would be easy to note that if you enjoyed the first game this should be right up your alley.  Although the combat still seems to hold to its stale and chaotic nature you can equate to the first;  it should prove to be more fun with a bigger arsenal to choose from.  The game ships out on the 26th.
