What? I died once on Multiplayer? THIS GAME BLOWS!

Frankly, I’m getting a little tired of people saying a game is bad, simply because they aren’t Godlike on it. I grew up playing NES games while all my friends had N64s, and I guess I learned to appreciate what I have. I’ve heard hours of complaints levelled against games like Modern Warfare 2. People saying a game is bad because of the people that play it is ridiculous.

I can’t even count how many times I’ve heard that MW2 is a bad game because there are  cheap players. This makes no sense. In every single multiplayer game ever in existence there have players who use seemingly unfair tactics, or exploit the tiniest flaws in the game’s design or programming to gain an advantage. No amount of technology will ever change that. Instead of just trying to have fun, many gamers turn into competitive assholes that think a killstreak is more important than a good time.

Not to say I don’t have my complaints. Yes, it is annoying when someone knifes you from across a room with commando, and Camping is rampant. Instead of saying the game is bad, (especially when you know it isn’t) how about you take off that diaper, put on your big-boy undies and get over it?

People say the campaign is terrible. Really? You had no fun at all? I doubt it. Maybe you died a few times on Veteran, and that really pissed you off.  It’s a game. Hey, I understand; I’ve screamed at my TV and thrown my controller at games, but then I took a big breath, picked up my controller, and kept playing. Maybe it wasn’t challenging enough. Alrighty, play the Ghouls and Ghosts series, have a nice day, and shut the fuck up.

Listen, if you’re still reading this, thank you. You’ve had the incredible endurance to sit through a rant and not stop halfway through to comment on what a naive asshole I am. My argument is really simple: Cheap player’s aren’t the game’s fault. Try just enjoying yourself. Play with some friends, and if you die, laugh it off and keep playing. If you do, I promise you’ll like the game a lot more. Sure, there will be annoying players (I run into them all the time), instead of losing your shit at ‘how bad the game is’ just take pride in the thought that they aren’t good enough to play fairly. Feel free to call me what you like and  say what you will, I’ll actually be enjoying my games.
