Dynasty Warriors fans are like New York Knicks fans. They seem to think that no matter what the franchise can put together, it is going to turn them into a contender again. I used to be on the Dynasty Warriors band-wagon. I think we all were when it made the jump to new 3D graphics on the Ps2. That was only…what? nine games ago? Maybe more…I’ve lost count. But alas, once again it has been brought to my attention that this new Dynasty Warriors Strikeforce would be the game that puts the franchise back on the map and into game contention again…and once again I have been lied to. +Continue Reading

That’s right all you 20+ year-old Harry Potter fans out there, listen up. No longer do we have to walk down the toy isle in Target acting sad because we’re embarrassed to buy the new Lego Harry Potter Hogwarts set. Lego and Warner Bros are teaming up to bring you the first four-years of the Harry Potter world to the gaming kingdom. The game is set to hit the stores in late May, so here’s a little bit about it to get you ready for it! +Continue Reading

Welcome to the first post of Resume Play Movies! Not only are we conquering the video game world day by day, but now we are taking on the cinematic world as well. Each week I’m going to write a little article about a few of the movies I’ve seen recently. Sometimes I’ll do retro reviews, sometimes I’ll just write posts about certain movie topics. As far reviews go, I wont take up your whole page with a review unless I’ve got a whole lot to say about a particular movie. Most of my posts will be containing several movies, just to give our readers a little insight to go on. I will occasionally add spoilers in the reviews, so if you feel the need to bitch about it, do me a favor and stop while you’re ahead.
Otherwise, enjoy! +Continue Reading

Wrestling games have been an integral part of video gaming. They’ve just always been there. I remember feeling the breakthrough in WWF/WCW games back when Nitro was released on PC, and when World Tour came out on N64. After playing World Tour, I was still craving that little bit more. I wanted behind the scenes fights, I wanted trash talk, and I wanted more characters. Of course this may have been a lot ot expect in 1997, but in 1998 THQ must have thought the same thing when they released what is known to a lot of people as the best wrestling game of all time. +Continue Reading

Another year in gaming has finally come to pass, and I”m not sure that I could really ask for a better one. The year started out with fantastic releases, continued to shovel them out through the summer, and ended the year with a crucial big-bang of best-sellers to knock us all on our butts. I can safetly say that this has been one of the best (and most anticipated) years in gaming to hit us in a long time. I purchased so many games that I’ve yet to complete them all. However, the main answer to the question we all want to ask remains to be seen. In a year chock-full of amazing games, which one reigns supreme above the rest? Here are the top three picks from some of Resume Play’s staff for 2009’s Game of the Year award +Continue Reading

In the year of 2009, there has been a bold statement made about the new generation of gaming. I’m not talking about a statement of graphics, storyline, or game-play. I’m also not talking about a statement of what’s going to win the best game of the year. I’m talking about a statement made by a website to the video gaming world declaring that the creators of some of the best games of 2009 are using subliminal racism in their top-selling titles. I’m here to give my thoughts on this declaration. +Continue Reading

I’ve got friends that say they are “over the zombie fad”. The truth is, zombies have always been an integral part of this society’s horror game and movie industry. I wasn’t impressed with Dead Rising, or the crazy amount of zombie games leading up to it. I liked Resident Evil 4 & 5, but those weren’t exactly zombies, were they? In 2008, Valve finally unleashed a zombie game I was proud to own, although I did have small problems with repetitiveness and shortness in length. These two things were completely fixed in the sequel. Here is my review for quite possibly the best zombie game ever made. +Continue Reading

If you’re an active Marvel fan, then you know what the Civil War, how it came about, and how it went down. However, the storyline isn’t the only thing that seriously lacked in the sequel I had been looking forward to since the first game’s release. With every level I played in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, I gained more and more disappointment. Coming from a true Marvel fan, here are the reasons I think Activision should create time-travel and go back to stage one of developing this game. *Warning: There may be spoilers from the game.* +Continue Reading

Hello everyone, and thank you for checking out the newest edition of Resume Play’s “Where are they now?” This week, we look a little closer at four of the rootinest, tootinest, ass-kicking cowboy bounty hunters of the west. In 1991, Konami formed the team of Billy, Steve, Bob, and Cormano in the name of good. The Sunset Riders took saddle and made their presence known to the SNES world. Their mission…bring in the scoundrel known as Richard Rose, dead or alive. Being that it only takes about a total of 45 minutes to do so, here is what our beloved bounty collectors have been up to since. +Continue Reading
In 2003, Nintendo unleashed a new face of our beloved hero Link (or was it?) to the world with Wind Waker. With great reviews of the game, and mixed critics on Link’s new look, Nintendo decided to take a chance and bank on the fact that every Zelda game has been a best-seller. In 2005, Nintendo kept the new Link getup, and teamed with Capcom to create the next installment in the Zelda series. Releasing it for only the Game-boy Advance, the game was greeted with amazing reviews but passed through the gaming world swiftly and quietly. Click below to see my retro review on probably the most underrated Zelda game up-to-date. +Continue Reading

Hello everyone, and welcome to a new weekly addition to the Resume Play repertoire. Does anyone know what night club Billy and Jimmy from Double Dragon are bouncing for? What about the post office management position the original Paperboy has acquired? Is Chef Peter Pepper ever going to make enough burgers before being foiled by the triad of terror known as Mr. Hot Dog, Mr. Pickle, and Mr. Egg? These are questions that the public must know, and they are the questions that I have set out to find, and post my discoveries each week for you all to see.
