Brian Meyer
Hey all, my name is Brian Meyer. I’m 24 years old and just graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point in late 2008 with an English degree and a Writing minor. Since I was about six years old, my first love was that beautifully simple NES controller. Sometime around the SNES release, my parents bit the bullet and bought my sister and I our very own console. In fact, I still have that console today- it works perfectly and is still aesthetically intact, as well as being the source of my biggest game collection (I have about 65 SNES cartridges).
In 2003, I bought an original Xbox from my best friend with only a couple games, including House of the Dead 3 (with the light guns), and I fell in love for the last time. The controller felt perfect in my hands, and that was before the “bumper” buttons even existed. A few months after the 360 came out, I took my Xbox to the game store with about 50 games and only paid $50 out of my own pocket on the day I traded it in. From that day on I decided that I was definitely a Microsoft loyal, and although I enjoy the power and Blu-Ray capabilities of the PS3 (even though I don’t own one) my true affections will always lie with the 360 and its siblings.
Well, that’s my life story as it applies to video games. Besides gaming, I spend my time (and money) shopping for clothes, shoes, and hats (Jordan, Nike, New Era) and listening to music at way too loud a volume setting. I’m the proud owner of my original SNES, an N64, a Nintendo DS, and my 360. I think the best thing to happen to gaming is High Definition (I can’t believe anybody who says they can’t see the difference), and my setup is a 32″ Samsung LCD with Tritton AX360 Surround Sound headphones (you can’t creep up on me in CoD4).
Besides gaming, my biggest passion is writing, so any feedback (constructive is appreciated) on my offerings to resumeplay.net is greatly appreciated. I want to write what you want to read, so help me out! Also, my email is always open (I’m a proud BlackBerry owner) so don’t hesitate to ask any questions you might have!
