Another year in gaming has finally come to pass, and I”m not sure that I could really ask for a better one. The year started out with fantastic releases, continued to shovel them out through the summer, and ended the year with a crucial big-bang of best-sellers to knock us all on our butts. I can safetly say that this has been one of the best (and most anticipated) years in gaming to hit us in a long time. I purchased so many games that I’ve yet to complete them all. However, the main answer to the question we all want to ask remains to be seen. In a year chock-full of amazing games, which one reigns supreme above the rest? Gearbox is really doing a great job pushing out DLC for their open world shooter Borderlands. The newest member to the club is Mad Moxxi. She has abnormally large breasts and loves violence. So much so that she is going to put you through a trial of arenas just to prove it to you. The DLC is available on Xbox today and PSN next week. It’s also gonna set you back the standard 10$ as well. Check out the video above to learn a bit more about Mad Moxxi.
When you first start playing Borderlands, a few things will cross your mind. The first is the similarity between it and Fallout 3. However, besides the whole apocalyptic setting and some similar level up/game-play, there are quite a few discernible differences. In my personal opinion, one of the greatest things about the game is the quirky dialogue throughout the whole thing. This dialogue comes from interactive characters that give you side missions, plot info, and also random one liners from enemies and your playable character.
With Borderlands just on the horizon for release and Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition just hitting shelves, it is no wonder that the two titles have been in the recent spotlight, often on opposite sides of one another. Yes, both games feature Post Apocalyptic settings, first person perspectives, and rpg elements, but people, that is where the brute of their similarities stop. And likewise, to the people that insist on comparing the two truly epic titles as though they were the same game, you need to do the same: STOP.
I never was that great at math, but this is one equation that makes sense to me. The real question is does it make sense to you? Randy Pitchford and Gearbox Software certainly hope so. +Continue Reading
