Dead Space 2 Officially Announced

Everbody’s favorite “Epic Tier 3 Engineer,” Isaac Clarke, is putting back on the space suit to battle the necromorph infestation again in the newly announced Dead Space 2.  Through developer Visceral Games, today EA officially announced a follow-up to the 2008 horror best-seller, Dead Space.  The original game had a fairly definitive ending, so it’ll be interesting to see where Visceral takes the sequel.

The Trouble with Dead Space

Dead Space isn’t quite horror, and it isn’t quite survival, either. In an obvious attempt to revive the genre, it hits a bizarre middle ground; too many clichés and too much ammo make it difficult to be truly terrified. Yet, EA’s new third-person shooter has its occasional scares, its occasional ‘oh shits’ and it’s occasional ‘what the fucks’ – it’s just too bad that you’ll probably find these in your usual daily soap-drama as well.

Ahoy there, noble readers! It’s that time of year again. Black cats running wild, children knocking on your door demanding sugared treats, and all sorts of costumed freaks causing mayhem (no I’m not talking about Arkham Asylum). Halloween is coming up in a few short weeks. If you are anything like me, Halloween brings about the perfect time of year to break out the survival horror games. Although I enjoy these games year-round, there is just something about turning off the lights, cranking up the volume, and having the pewp scared out of me by a good survival horror that brings in the Halloween spirit.
