
We all knew it was coming, but wasn’t sure when until today BioWare announces the DLC Return To Ostagar will be available on January 5th in North America and Europe. Good news is that it’s set at a reasonable price of five dollars; the downside is that PS3 gamers will have to wait until sometime in late January to get this game (no word on the Mac version). This package will continue the adventure through Ostagar to help reclaim the honor and learn all about Ferelden’s fallen king… huh? Maybe I should play this game first. They have wasted no time in showing support for this game with DLC even though the game takes approximately 10,000 hours to beat. But hey, too much of a good thing doesn’t make it bad, it just makes it awesome.

If you were around when I wrote up a preview for this game you may remember that I had pretty high expectations for it. After a slew of sleepless nights in front of my PlayStation and time spent looking at character builds online, I have come to my final conclusion on BioWare’s dark fantasy RPG. What makes this game so hard to come to a solid conclusion on is that for the most part, the content is there, it can just be difficult to use. Features are a plenty but often you’ll find yourself straining to use them, or disappointed that the game has made some decisions for you.

Lately, RPG fans have received more then their fair share of games. With Borderlands just released in what feels like days after Demon’s Souls, and games like the Final Fantasy 13 trilogy constantly looming in the shadows, its hard not to feel a little overwhelmed. Unfortunately, or fortunately, Dragon Age: Origins is shaping up to being an RPG your not going to want to push to the side.
