Bungie has been claiming for quite some time that Halo Reach would be the last Halo installment and all the consumers could really do was roll out eyes. It seems we had good reason to do so because today Bungie community and franchise director Brian Jarrard has changed his story just slightly. When I first heard of Halo legends I was pretty annoyed as I thought to myself at how they could pull off making this into an anime. But then I learned several big name anime studios would be working on it such as the makers of Ghost in the Shell, I said “Hey why not, I’ll give it a chance”.

Today at the X10 event Bungie and Microsoft announced that the Halo Reach Beta will be starting on May 3rd! You will need the HALO 3: ODST disc to access the beta so don’t go trading it back to GameStop just yet!. No word was given on how long or what would be included in the beta. It will probably be something similar to the HALO 3 beta. If you remember the H3 beta had 3 maps and only lasted a little while so it will be interesting to see what Bungie does this time. Also released was the Halo Reach box art which you will find to your left. There is much more news to come so stay tuned!
Well then, I believe we’re all getting excited for Halo Reach coming out here soon. Game Informer just did a cover story and released some juicy details for everyone. Trying to spread the news as far and wide as possible, here’s what I’ve gathered. Maybe you’ve read it before, maybe you haven’t, but here’s a quick run-down for info.
For the first time last night I watched the Spike Video Game Award show. I had avoided it up until now and the only thing that pulled me in to watch this year were some of the surprise game announcements. Most gamers aren’t new to comic books, in fact for a lot of us they kind of come hand in hand. With a good number of games being released with comic book styles and themes, its no wonder that they’ve also made comic books based on video games.
With the announcement of UDON’s Darkstalkers 3 issue comic book miniseries (expected to release early next year), I thought it would be a good time to take a look at some other games and characters that have made the jump from console to paper.

ODST. Your first question when Bungie renamed this game from HALO 3: Recon to ODST was probably, what the heck is ODST. It stands for Orbital Drop Shock Trooper, they are a group of the hardest and most deadly soldiers in the UNSC (think the equivalent to our Navy Seals). Also referred to as Hell-jumpers because of the unique way they are inserted into battle. Their mode of transportation is a small 1 person drop pod which is fired from the UNSC ships above the battlefield. They don’t have shields, can’t dual-wield, and rely on health packs and teamwork to survive.
