Eighteen years ago, gaming was an entirely different experience. Of course, back then I was 4 years old, played with an upside down controller and had just started to truly gain control of my motor skills. Yet it seems like things have wound down a path of simplicity and un-originality. It’s difficult to compare games from NES, Genesis, and SNES to the current generation but if you consider the amount of effort and dedication it took to complete a gameor start to have nightmares about the impossible ones, (Maximum Carnage, Battletoads, Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts) I find it disappointing that there aren‘t many games that are that challenging anymore; but most of all I haven’t seen any new ideas or anything in a video game for a long time.

The question of the week this week involves the many different weapons introduced with gaming; some are possible but others are completely too bad-ass to be true. Weapons have been very creative especially in the first person shooter genre (including one of the most creative guns I have ever heard; the Landshark Gun). This year’s E3 was a feast for the eyes, showing off some very impressive games for all three major home consoles. While the Microsoft and Sony E3 press conferences were stuffed full of gaming goodness, the Nintendo press conference seems to be left in the dust. If you actually look at what Nintendo has coming out for the “hardcore” you will realize they are doing a better job of tailoring towards that crowd that they have in the past. Don’t believe me? Then feast your eyes on this amazing list (in no particular order) that Nintendo has to offer for gamers like me and you (pointing my finger at you). I’m almost positive this list will have something for all gamers to enjoy, well, all gamers that aren’t worried about losing weight, waggling, or getting their heart rate checked.

Top Free MMOs 11-8
I’m kicking off the list with the #11-8 for the top 11 MMOs out there that have a decent fun factor and are unique among the competition. I realize 11 is a strange number for a top list but theres always that one extra slot that you wish could fit another game that almost makes the top 10.
