It’s that time of year again, baseball season. The last few years the two baseball games available, Sony’s MLB The Show and the cross-platform MLB 2K have competed for your hard earned cash. Sony and The Show series have made some of the best sports games ever with all their little details that make the experience great. 2K has struggled the past few years with getting a good base to build the franchise off of. In 2K8 they introduced the pitching and hitting with the right stick. This wasn’t bad in 2K8, being that it was their first year with it. 2K9 however took a step backwards making the right stick controls way too easy. There were other issues like frame-rate and the lack of the My Player mode that the 2K basketball games and MLB The Show have. Were these things fixed?
Today, GameInformer’s Jeff Marchiafava revealed Portal 2 will be the cover of the next issue. After two unprecedented updates to Portal 1 this past week many fans and journalists had taken the add-on’s as a hint for a sequel or an expansion of some sort. The updates give you 26 audio transmissions you are able to hear through the in game radio, and if you’re so inclined to search– some hidden Morse code recordings. Portal first started off as an experiment that was bundled in The Orange Box with Half-Life 2 and Team Fortress 2, and it became something bigger than Valve ever thought it would be. Hit the jump for all of the art work.
Alpha Protocol is one of those 2008/2009 games that got delayed repeatedly into the now-packed 2010 spring window. But if you haven’t heard of this one before, you might want to start paying attention now, because its coming out on June 1st on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
Alpha Protocol eschews the traditional fantasy and space settings of RPG’s, using instead an international espionage story as its basis. Resumeplay will give you a full preview when we get closer to the launch date, but for now we’ve got a new trailer, new screenshots and a brief introduction to the game.
Don’t be tricked by the title, it’s merely the words I’m using to describe my analysis of Mass Effect 2. It’s a no-brainer that the sequel would have various improvements and new control schemes. However, are all of these improvements or are some of them faux pas? Hit the link for my humble critique and opinion of ME2.
Well we are now just a few days away from kicking off this crazy spring gaming season. Mass Effect 2 is releasing next week and Bioware is starting the marketing train with this launch trailer. Enjoy!
This week in games brings a plethora of titles I have never heard of. The biggest game this week is probably Dark Void coming out for 360, PS3 and PC. Another big game is Death By Cube developed by Square Enix. For you PSP owners out there you get your first chance to play Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. So there you go, this week isn’t bad but next week will be even better with Mass Effect 2!
This game looks very interesting. Like a lot of PSN and XBLA titles it seems to have a character to it that many full releases don’t. For now all we have is the trailer but keep checking back for more info!
I was surfing through Steam once again because of the holiday sale and I found the Void. I figured I should try it out and see exactly what this game was about. Developed by Ice-Pick Lodge, the Void is a survival horror adventure to where you are thrown into the abyss of Death with a dying soul and you have to find a way to keep surviving. Apparently, souls die whenever they’re stuck in the Void, which is known as an odd space between life and death.
Maybe it’s just me, but I love DLC for games. The idea of extra content for my favorite games, new stuff to play, is always good for me. Though DLC can be a bit of a controversial topic in the gaming community, let’s just focus on the good aspects of here. Hopefully, you’ll find this list handy to keep track of upcoming DLC for your consoles.
Finally, it is at an end. Guybrush has defeated LaChuck, retrieving his Wife, and all the other good things that heroes do. After this long sprawling journey on the seas and through the life of a pirate…what’s my consensus? As always, I’m going to assume you’ve played the other games if you’re interested. So…ARRR MATEY, thar be minor spoilers off the bow! Hit the jump for more.
Developed by Amanita Design, Samorost 2 is the sequel to the free browser game Samorost 1. It is a short episodic adventure game where you have to help out this small space gnome seek out his dog after a couple of aliens kidnapped it. It is your job to help this little guy to get his best friend back through different areas of space. The first game and chapter 1 of Samorost 2 are available for free, which I thought was a great idea to get people interested in the story itself. +Continue Reading
I usually find myself playing games that have zombies as the main antagonists. Yes, zombies are naturally antagonists, but they weren’t always the bad cannibals we fight here and there in games. They were once human you know. So when I saw Zombie Driver on Steam, I decided that I should play it and see what this game would mean to the zombie lovers out there. Developed by Exor Studios, this single player zombie game puts you in the driver’s seat where you roam a huge city that has been overrun by the human-flesh eating people. +Continue Reading
