This week in games brings a plethora of titles I have never heard of. The biggest game this week is probably Dark Void coming out for 360, PS3 and PC. Another big game is Death By Cube developed by Square Enix. For you PSP owners out there you get your first chance to play Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. So there you go, this week isn’t bad but next week will be even better with Mass Effect 2!

If you’re an active Marvel fan, then you know what the Civil War, how it came about, and how it went down. However, the storyline isn’t the only thing that seriously lacked in the sequel I had been looking forward to since the first game’s release. With every level I played in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, I gained more and more disappointment. Coming from a true Marvel fan, here are the reasons I think Activision should create time-travel and go back to stage one of developing this game. *Warning: There may be spoilers from the game.* +Continue Reading

So in the tenth year of the NBA 2K series, we were promised something special, and something that would knock us off our feet from prior games. Sure, I know what you’re thinking…”this is a basketball game, how much different could it get?”. Well the truth is, the games are very different. I’m a huge sports fan, and at the top of that chain lies the National Basketball Association. I pay attention to the smallest of details…and when playing sports games, I want to feel the combination of real-life presentation, and the excitement of edge-of-your-seat action in fast paced game scenarios. After a quick decision in deciding I liked NBA 2K9 over NBA Live 2009, it was a shoe-in that I would buy NBA 2K10. Here are my thoughts on it. +Continue Reading

The NBA season starts in October, and aside from maybe Rich, I’m probably the only one on Resume Play that cares. However, it is my job to bring a little bit of sporting games into this nerd fest of a site. Along with the new season comes to releases of NBA Live 2010 and NBA 2K10. I’ve had almost a year of fun and excitement from these games and there is a constant debate about which one is better. Most of the people that side with the live games only play the live games, and likewise with the 2K series. I have owned NBA Live 2009 since the release date, and only just picked up 2K9. I am a dedicated NBA fan and pay attention to lots of small details, so I will take those into count. I think you’ll be surprised by my comparison. I have been a live buyer for the last three years, but before that I was a 2K series buyer, and even before that, I was a live buyer. Here’s my professional Resume Play writer comparison of NBA Live 2009 and NBA 2K9. +Continue Reading

To go along with the (disappointing) release of Wolverine worldwide, I have decided to put together a list of some of the best Marvel games to date. Like most movie and tv show games, Marvel comics has also been thrown into the mix of having a knack for being quite sub-par. Luckily, there are a few games that completely save Marvel in the video game era. I have picked my top 10, and definetely 10 games you will love, if you’re a comic buff like me.

And yet another game to come out of Activision this year is a game packed full of songs that you have played a million times already, but now you can include your friends on it as well. This game is bringing its best tracks from Guitar Hero 1, 2, and 3 and including drum and vocal tracks along with it. The game will include 48 master tracks and will release on the PS3, PS2, Wii, and Xbox 360 on June 26th. Check after the break for the list of announced songs.

With the last couple releases have been decent but haven’t made such an impact as the original 3 titles, going back and remaking the original might be a good idea. The game will be released on the PS2, PSP, and for the first time ever on a Nintendo console, the Nintendo Wii. Of course though, the game will be seeing some upgrades and will take use of the clever design of the WiiMote. All three games will be developed from the team at Climax who developed Silent Hill: Origins for the PSP and PS2, and will boast an all new soundtrack from the series creator Akira Yamaoka. Check after the break for the improvements of this epic remake and my comments.

No, this isn’t an April fool’s joke unlike those crazy cats over at IGN, Sony officially starts the Playstation 2 at the amazing price point of $99. There is no denying the fact that this is the world’s most popular video game console and for good reason. Any hardcore gamer could easily pick out 25 games that they would enjoy the hell out of and probably another 50 that they would appreciate. The library for this system is shockingly great that even casual gamers could have fun with. If you’ve never owned the PS2 before, right now is the perfect time to buy it.
