The turn based strategy game from W! Games finally has a release date. The game will be hitting the Xbox Live Arcade on Feb. 24th and the Playstation Network on the 25th. This game looks very interesting with a great art style and strong universe. The game looks to be a lot like some of the better strategy games like Civ Revolution and Catan. I have really been looking forward to this title and can’t wait to get my hands on it. Check the screenshots out below and also take a look at this trailer.
The game will be missing its current release date of yesterday being pushed back to March 11th for an “unexpected” but not awesome delay. They believe that since the game has a current rating on the Kevin Bacon Awesomeness Meter of a 9500, the servers just couldn’t handle this awesomeness of awesome games. Not much of a delay though, you will be able to play this awesome game on March 11th for the price of $4.99. Also I think Kevin Bacon is a awesome name… awesome.
This game looks very interesting. Like a lot of PSN and XBLA titles it seems to have a character to it that many full releases don’t. For now all we have is the trailer but keep checking back for more info!
For the first time in what I’ve been led to believe ever, RPG powerhouse tri-Ace is partnering with someone besides SquareEnix. Yes, that’s right, tri-Ace has removed itself from the safe and supple nipples of Square and latched itself onto SEGA’s increasingly good selection of games with their new RPG, End of Eternity (or Resonance of Fate for us here in North America).
With NBA Jam getting the “were bringing it back” treatment earlier this week, its no surprise that maybe the most popular sports game of all time Tecmo Bowl is next in line. According to a trusted source of Joystiq the game is getting the upgrade to HD graphics and a new soundtrack. Although, it will still retain some of the same classic plays and style. Frankly, I think they should leave the soundtrack the same. Check back for more info when it becomes available!
Rumors have been flying and ESPN reports that EA sports has acquired the NBA Jam license and is working on a new NBA Jam. The catch is that according to the report it is only going to be available on the Wii. Although, there are other reports which suggest the game will also get the XBLA and PSN treatment along with a Wii retail release. The creator of the original NBA Jam now works for EA and is said to be collaborating on the project. This isn’t EA’s first time at a arcade basketball game, if you remember the “Street” series that EA used to do. Some of those were pretty good games and I am sure that this reboot is going to fill that void. It also could have to do with the success of the more arcade version of Madden that is available on the Wii. Remember this is just a rumor and we will post when more concrete details emerge.
For anyone still playing the XBLA and PSN title, Inferno Pool, developer Dark Energy Digital has released a series of YouTube videos which offer some help for the game’s more advanced maneuvers and modes. Hit the jump for the video links. +Continue Reading
Military Madness: Nectaris is an old series. The first game came out way back in 1989, and previous to the newest download available on PSN, the last game was on original Playstation. I have to say, that’s exactly where it belongs. Though the game has been ‘totally remade’ with new graphics, the realization that this was just an old game polished to look brand-new kicked in almost immediately.
What a crazy idea for a video game; Fret Nice is a platform style game that is played with a guitar controller. “We felt sorry for gamers who bought a guitar only to be used for pure music games, so we made a platform game for them! Fret Nice is the perfect blend of two worlds.” – says Pieces Interactive CEO Johan Hellberg. Fret Nice is being developed by Pieces, a Swedish developer that has gained popularity with their quirky games like Puzzlegeddon. If everything goes as planned, we can expect this downloadable game on XBLA and PSN in early 2010. Check after the break for screenshots. +Continue Reading
1up.com gave me the written equivlent of viagra today when I clicked the link to there cover story on the revival of one of my favorite Genesis games of all time, Sparkster.
Where did all the kart racers go? Those are a thing of the past that were only good for “driving” your series into the ground. The Tower Defense genre has quickly risen and became an ever so popular genre for both audiences (hardcore and casual). Now don’t get me wrong, there is a ton of these types of games out there are for the most part, they aren’t all great. I’ve compiled a list here of my five favorites in the genre that I believe will turn you into a believer of tower defense games, be it over saturated or not. The list is in no particular order. +Continue Reading
I’ll admit two things straight off the bat: first, this is the first time I’ve ever reviewed downloadable content in the form of a story-extension, usually it’s the additional few maps affair, so hopefully I won’t balls this one up too much; secondly, I’m going into this with quite a lot of anticipation, Fallout 3 being one of only two games I’ve ever ‘Platinumed’ on the Playstation 3, the second being Quantum of Solace, but that was because it was really bloody easy. My guess is that if you’re reading this then you’ve probably played Fallout 3 before and most likely own it; that, or you enjoy my writing so bloody much that if I were to write about 18th Century Georgian architecture, you’d still find riveting. Which would be exciting if it wasn’t a bloody lie.
