Welcome to the first post of Resume Play Movies! Not only are we conquering the video game world day by day, but now we are taking on the cinematic world as well. Each week I’m going to write a little article about a few of the movies I’ve seen recently. Sometimes I’ll do retro reviews, sometimes I’ll just write posts about certain movie topics. As far reviews go, I wont take up your whole page with a review unless I’ve got a whole lot to say about a particular movie. Most of my posts will be containing several movies, just to give our readers a little insight to go on. I will occasionally add spoilers in the reviews, so if you feel the need to bitch about it, do me a favor and stop while you’re ahead.
Otherwise, enjoy! +Continue Reading

Another year in gaming has finally come to pass, and I”m not sure that I could really ask for a better one. The year started out with fantastic releases, continued to shovel them out through the summer, and ended the year with a crucial big-bang of best-sellers to knock us all on our butts. I can safetly say that this has been one of the best (and most anticipated) years in gaming to hit us in a long time. I purchased so many games that I’ve yet to complete them all. However, the main answer to the question we all want to ask remains to be seen. In a year chock-full of amazing games, which one reigns supreme above the rest? Here are the top three picks from some of Resume Play’s staff for 2009’s Game of the Year award +Continue Reading

In the year of 2009, there has been a bold statement made about the new generation of gaming. I’m not talking about a statement of graphics, storyline, or game-play. I’m also not talking about a statement of what’s going to win the best game of the year. I’m talking about a statement made by a website to the video gaming world declaring that the creators of some of the best games of 2009 are using subliminal racism in their top-selling titles. I’m here to give my thoughts on this declaration. +Continue Reading

Hello everyone, and welcome to a new weekly addition to the Resume Play repertoire. Does anyone know what night club Billy and Jimmy from Double Dragon are bouncing for? What about the post office management position the original Paperboy has acquired? Is Chef Peter Pepper ever going to make enough burgers before being foiled by the triad of terror known as Mr. Hot Dog, Mr. Pickle, and Mr. Egg? These are questions that the public must know, and they are the questions that I have set out to find, and post my discoveries each week for you all to see. I.I
The fine people over at Konami have released a new patch for the online version of Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Online. The patch includes a slew of updates, fixes, and best of all a brand new map.
The map, which is called Icebound Inferno (I.I), features pieces of the fight with Crying Wolf, or for the veteran players of the series out there, Shadow Moses. Featuring Liquids Hind D helicopter and snow so thick players will be walking right past you, it should be an enjoyable time for long time fans and new fans alike.
Another notable release with the new patch is being able to play as Snake as a special character outside of Sneaking Mission.
You can get full notes from the patch on the official site here.

The L.O.G. (Lord of Games) lost challenges expansion pack has been announced holding some great new content that gamers will be able to download on April 7th. There will be a total of 12 new missions for you along with 7 new multiplayer games. The contest winners from RARE’s “Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts” fan vehicle design contest will be included but must be unlocked by using the Stop ‘N’ Swop feature within “Banjo-Tooie” on Xbox LIVE Arcade which will release later this Spring. I advise everyone that had a great time building their dream machines within Nuts and Bolts should strongly consider this new addition for the low price of 400 Microsoft Point.

The game's main character Lightning
I’m a sucker for the Final Fantasy series, and when any new details gets announced, I kind of go a little crazy. The latest batch of characters are just as diverse as the rest of them. Their names are Gadot, Maqui, and Lebreau. Their place in the story, along with the story itself, still remains in mystery but rumors around the net have been circulating. It’s rumored that Gadot and Lebreau are childhood friends of one of the main characters Snow. check after the break for pictures of the new characters and make sure you visit the official Final Fantasy XIII website from where these pictures are from here.

Link comes back to the DS
Today at the Nintendo press conference at GDC09, Iwata announced The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks for DS. A short video was shown and it looks like Link is staying true to his Windwaker/Phantom Hourglass self. Keeping our green claded hero cell shaded. Although this time, he is trading in his boat for a train. Does this mean Link can control trains now? More details are sure to follow leading up to the games Winter of 09 release.
