
This could easily be one of my most anticipated games of this year, and not just on the Wii either. Muramasa: The Demon Blade is a stunning game in the visuals department on a console that has a hard time dazzling gamers not having HD support, and this developer has already impressed with Odin Sphere which released on the PS2. This is looking like a great year for the Wii and this title is one of the reasons. Now that Muramasa has a publisher, Ignition Entertainment, we should expect this game to hit retail shelves sometime this September. Nintendo’s Press conference was most certainly better than last year, but that doesn’t mean it still competed with the other two companies in terms of hardcore games and new innovative technology. Still though, I gotta hand it to Nintendo for making me a believer again with the introduction of a new Metroid, a new Mario Galaxy, and of course, the New Super Mario Bros. Wii title, among others. Although I hate the name, it still could prove to be a blast when it hits its release date sometime by the end of this year.

Microsoft’s deal of the week this week is… you guessed it, Alien Hominid HD. Crafted from the minds that brought you the excellent beat em up last year Castle Crashers, Alien Hominid was first spotted as a flash game on the hilarious flash website newgrounds.com. As an alien trying to fight to save your life from the feds, you must guide this creature through sixteen different difficult levels. This game shares similar aspects with games like Contra and the Metal Slug series, but brings its own spin on things of course. Fans who have both Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers will be able to download the alien into their Castle Crashers game as an added bonus.

Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure is an interesting blend of two different genres brought together. It’s basically a simple side-scroller/puzzler that brings in elements from the Mega Man series and the puzzle game Planet Puzzle League. While separately, these games might not be enough to keep people interested, but together, they provide some intriguing new concepts.
